The Blood: Part II

"There’s Power In The Blood"

 

• It is sad to say but the fact is, very few churches ------- very few Christians talk about "the Blood" anymore.

• I believe that the enemy of our soul, "Satan", has been working overtime to try and convince believers that talking about the Blood and that it will "turn people off".

• Just remember that the Bible says that he is a liar and the "father of lies".

• So stop listening to him and his lies!

• The Devil knows better that we do that there is "life" and "power" in the Blood!

READ: Leviticus 17:11-12

Hebrews 9:13-14, 22

 

Our Purpose: We need to see what the Bible has to say about the power that is in the Blood. "For the life of the flesh is in the blood". Lev. 17:11a

(Key) When we get tapped into the "life" that is in the Blood, we will be tapped into the life of God!

 

Power In The Blood:

1. The "Atonement" for sin (our salvation)

• Leviticus 17:11c "……for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement."

• Hebrews 9:22 "….and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness."

• Romans 5:9 "Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him."

• Ephesians 1:7 "In Him we have the redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace."

• I Peter 1:18-19 "know that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers,

but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ".

• (Insight) By the Blood of Jesus we have receive God’s forgiveness, redemption, and restoration. It’s called salvation!

 

2. The Blood Brings Us Cleansing.

• Hebrews 9:22 "…..all things are cleansed with blood".

• I John 1:7 "but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, awe have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin."

• We need of lives, our hearts and minds cleansed.

o        Our hearts:

§         Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

o        Jesus said, (Matthew 15:18-19) "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heat, and those defile the man.

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders."

o        That is why the Psalmist David cried out to God in Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God."

o        Jesus said, (Matthew 5:8) "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God".

o        Our minds: cleansed from the guilt and shame of the past.

o        Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

 

3. There is Healing in the Atoning Blood of Jesus.

• Isaiah 53:5 "But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed."

• I Peter 2:24 "….and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed."

• Psalm 103:2-3 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases;"

 

4. In The Blood we have deliverance and release from the powers of darkness.

• Colossians 1:13-14 "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."

• Revelation 1:5b "To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood-"
• Therefore: we have "Overcoming Power"

• I John 4:4 "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."

• Revelation 12:11 "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death."

 

5.Through "the Blood" we can (and should) enter "the holy place" (God’s presence).

• Hebrews 10:19-25

• Jesus, the Perfect Sacrifice, and our Great High Priest, has done it all.

• Leviticus 4:5-6 "Then the anointed priest is to take some of the blood of the bull and bring it to the tent of meeting,

                   And the priest shall dip his finer in the blood and sprinkle some of the blood seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary"

• Jesus shed His blood seven (7) times.

1. Garden of Gethsemane (Luke 22:44) when He sweat "drops of blood".

2. At the House of Caiaphas (Matthew 26:67) when the beat His face.

3. When the Scourged His back. (John 19:1, Matt. 27:26, Mark 15:15)

                   4. Crown of Thorns (Roman soldiers) Matthew 27:29-30

At the Cross:

                   5. The nails in His hands

                   6. The nail in His feet

7. The spear in His side (water & blood came forth) John 19:34 [This fulfilled Leviticus 14:1-8,14.]

• How are you experiencing the "power" that is in the Blood?

• By faith we receive:

His salvation and forgiveness

His cleansing

His healing

His deliverance and enabling power

And through His blood we come into the "life-giving presence of the Living God.
