![]() Worship Series: Part III The Joy of His PresencePsalm ·
It is through worship that we enter into the Divine presence. ·
It is in the “power of His presence” that we experience and come
to know the fullness of His joy. Review: Part I and II·
Part I : Get Your Focus Right
(Jesus has to be the center.) ·
Colossians 1:15-17 And
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether throngs or dominions or rulers or authorities---all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and
in Him all things hold together. ·
Part II: Minister to the Lord and He
will minister to you ·
I Samuel 3:1 ·
Acts 13: 1-3 The Prayer of Moses
·
Exodus 33:7-11 The Tent of Meeting ·
This was “pre” Tabernacle. ·
Moses set aside a place to meet with God and hear His voice. ·
Notice that this was a “tent”, not a permanent structure. ·
God is moving, and we need to keep pace with Him. · Worship is progressive…….never stagnant. That means we need to be moving with God, never content to stay where we are in mediocrity of the “status quo”. ·
Exodus 33:12-17 · The Principle of Divine Favor (v. 13) · This is the same word that is used in reference to Noah in Genesis 6:8. (KJ says “grace”.) · It is one thing to be in “the position of Divine favor,” but quite another to walk “experientially” in Divine favor. · The more intimately you “know the ways of God” the intimately you will “know God”; and the more intimately you “know” God, the more of His “FAVOR” you can walk in experientially. · God answered his prayer. (See Psalm 103:7) ·
God’s Presence Brings Joy and Peace ·
Psalm · Psalm 119:165 Those who love Your law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble. · Isaiah 26:3 (KJ) Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. ·
John ·
Guidance And The Presence of The Lord · Moses directly links “guidance” with the presence of the Lord. (Exodus 33:15) · (Insight) God wants us to mature in worship and knowing the joy of His presence to the level where He can begin to guide us with “His eye”. Psalm 32:8 “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” ? Do know what it means to “watch” and “read” the eyes of Jesus? John 13:21-26 It was John’s physical relationship to Jesus made him the only person in the room who could “know”, “hear”, and “feel” the heart of Jesus. · The Presence of the Lord Make A Noticeable Difference · Exodus 34:29-35 Moses had “a holy glow”! · II Corinthians 3:7-18 What we have in Christ is even more glorious than what Moses experienced. (See verse 18) · People who spend time in the presence of God make other people uncomfortable. (See Exodus 34:30) · The face of Moses reflected “the glory of God’s presence”. That is what worship will do for you! · Psalm 34:5 They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces shall never be ashamed. · (Principle) The “glory” that was on Moses was a fading glory, but as you and I spend more and more time with Jesus, in fellowship and worship, the “glow of His presence” will shine brighter and brighter. Entering His Presence · Psalm 22:3 God’s throne is constructed of “Tehillah” praise. · Halal (root word, #1984, used 86 times): to boast…to celebrate in the greatness of God to the point of foolishness · Tehillah (#8416, used 43 times): to musically boast and celebrate in the greatness of God to the point of foolishness. · Literally: to rant and rave in the greatness of God to the point where the world thinks you are crazy. · Psalm 33:1 Sing for joy in the Lord, O you righteous ones; Praise (Tehillah) is becoming to the upright. · Psalm 100 Our model and path into His presence. Come To Jesus…………
