Eden Worship Center

Pastor Harold D. & Janice Gingerich

Harold & Janice Gingerich were moved of God to establish and pastor Eden Community Worship Center in 1987. Prior to that time Harold & Janice had spent 16 years in full time itinerant ministry, sing and preaching the Gospel across North America. Their music continues to be a blessing and inspiration. The Gingerichs have recorded five record albums. Harold is known as a practical Bible teacher who is often been described as a man who "radiates joy".

In addition to pastoring a growing congregation, Harold Gingerich is being raised up as "a spiritual statesman". Ordained in the Mennonite Church in 1977, he has continued to travel internationally. In recent years he has ministered in Africa, Central America, England, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, and the Philippines. Harold teaches annually in the School of Acts Indonesia for Pastor Petrus Agung in Semarang, Indonesia.

Prior to entering the ministry, Harold studied at Indiana University and Ft. Wayne Bible College. He served as Club Director for Youth For Christ in Albuquerque, New Mexico while pasturing a small Mennonite church.

Harold Gingerich is also a recognized author and writer. His first book "Let This Mind Be In You" has been translated and published in Indonesian. Harold has also co-authored three leadership training manuals, along with numerous articles. For seven years Harold served as the editor of "Empowered Magazine", a quarterly teaching journal published by Mennonite Renewal Services.

In addition to ministry responsibilities, Harold Gingerich is a respected community leader. In 1986, he was elected to public office as a LaGrange County Councilman. Re-elected in 1990, 1994, and 1998, he was also instrumental in forming the first multi-county solid waste management district in Indiana. He continues to serve as President of the Board. Harold also led the effort to form the Association of Indiana Solid Waste Management District of which is president. Two Indiana governors have appointed him to statewide solid waste planning councils. In 1999, Governor Frank O'Bannon honored Harold with a "Governor's Award For Excellence".

Harold's community involvement has not been limited to the political arena. For four years he was the Varsity Assistant for Boys Tennis and the Head Baseball Coach at Westview High School. Harold has been a licensed baseball umpire since 1991.
